Good Morning Britain star Susanna Reid has added weight to speculation that ITV bosses want Ben Shephard to replace Phillip Schofield on This Morning.
Phillip used to present the show with Holly Willoughby but stepped down earlier this year in the midst of a scandal that saw him admitting to an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a much younger male colleague. Since then, there has been much speculation about whether show bosses will find a permanent replacement, and who that will be.
Since Phillip's departure a rotating carousel of hosts have taken his seat on the sofa alongside Holly, including Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle. Susanna's GMB colleague Ben recently did a stint and went down a storm, leading to calls for him to be given a real slot.

So far there is no official word on who might take over full-time from Phillip. But there have recently been rumours that Ben could be the frontrunner.
And Susanna seemed to skate close to it on the breakfast show, when Loose Women star Coleen Nolan made an appearance. Coleen was on to talk about her solo tour and Susanna teased that she had "defected" from her own programme.
"How come you have defected from Loose Women?" she joked. "Is it in revenge for This Morning nicking Ben Shephard?" she laughed.
Phillip, 61, hosted This Morning alongside Holly for many years. But his successful run on the daytime programme came to an end in May this year.
It started with reports of tension between him and Holly, and speculation started swirling about their TV partnership coming to an end. The star then stepped down from the programme and confirmed reports of his affair.

He went on to open up about the saga in a couple of interviews, telling the BBC that he felt he had “lost everything” and saying that in his opinion his TV career was in the past.
Holly headed off on her break after her co-star exited and since she's been back she has been joined by many different hosts. So far ITV has not moved to fill Phillip's slot with a permanent presenter.
