Virgin River: Season 5 Part 1 trailer
Season five, part one of Virgin River may have only just landed but many fans are already looking ahead to what will come next.
The drama series landed on Netflix today (September 7) with a further two festive instalments described as ‘holiday episodes’ coming out on November 30 for audiences to enjoy.
Virgin River is loosely based on the novels by Robyn Carr and follows the residents of the tight-knit Northern California community through their various trials and tribulations.
Will there be a Virgin River season 6?
Virgin River first debuted back in 2019 and proved to be a runaway success with viewers unable to get enough of the romance between nurse Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) and bar owner Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson).
Since then, viewers from across the globe have fallen in love with all the various residents on the series.

Thankfully, given the success of Virgin River, the show has indeed been renewed by Netflix for season six.
Season six got the green light back in May 2023, ahead of the premiere for the fifth run, leaving fans elated.
Virgin River is one of Netflix’s most popular titles with season four bringing in 277 million hours of viewing in the first 28 days since its release – a number which will have gone up since then, according to Deadline.
Season five is expected to simply build on the success of the previous seasons as more people come to the show.

Moreover, Virgin River is something of a rarity with between 10 to 12 episodes per season with most of the streamer’s show’s having a shorter number of instalments.
So fans can expect plenty more from fans, however, the news is bittersweet with the Hollywood WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes leading to a delay on the forthcoming sixth outing.
Sadly, the cast and crew of Virgin River have been unable to promote the current fifth season of the show in any form.
Actress Breckenridge previously shared a disappointing update on Instagram with her one million followers about the production on the upcoming series.
She said: Since the end of 2019…no December 2018, I’ve been going to Vancouver to film.
“I’m supposed to be there right now but because of the strike – strikes plural – both the actors and writers strike, no filming.
“I’m always homesick when I’m there but now my body feels like it’s supposed to be in Vancouver, so it’s very bizarre.”
